The Hayes Vineyard

The Hayes Vineyard is situated in the Armagh Valley, North West of the township of Clare and is the sole sight for our "The Hayes Boy" Grenache. It was planted to Cabernet, Shiraz and Grenache in 1975 by Kevin Hayes and his father. The vines are dry-grown and the Grenache was origionally bush vine before being put under trellis in the late nineties. We purchased the 8-acre vineyard in 2006 and have been running it according to biodynamic principles since 2007. The old vines deliver low yeilds which produces wines of great concentration and length.
